Definitions for the metrics and abbreviations used on TennisDB pages.

## Metric definitions
- aces: Serves that land in and are not touched by the returner.
- aces_per_match: Aces per match with serve stats available.
- avg_set_margin: Average per-set game margin from the player's perspective. Positive values mean winning sets by more games on average.
- break_points_converted_pct: Percentage of break-point chances won by the returner.
- break_points_saved_pct: Percentage of break points won by the server.
- career_w_l: Career main-draw singles wins and losses in TennisDB's match data.
- clay_win_pct: Win percentage in completed main-draw singles matches on clay courts.
- clay_win_streak: Longest consecutive winning streak in completed singles matches on clay courts, excluding walkovers.
- clay_wins: Completed main-draw singles match wins on clay courts.
- deciding_set_win_pct: Win percentage in matches that reached a deciding set.
- deep_run_pct: Share of tournaments where the player reached the quarterfinals or better.
- double_faults: Service points lost by missing both first and second serve.
- double_faults_per_match: Double faults per match with serve stats available.
- elo: Elo is a form-based rating that updates after each match. Beating stronger opponents earns more points; losing to weaker opponents costs more.
- elo_percentile: Percentile rank by Elo rating. 99 means higher than 99% of comparable players.
- elo_points: Current TennisDB Elo rating points.
- elo_rank: A player's rank by current TennisDB Elo rating, not official ranking points.
- fifth_set_win_pct: Win percentage in completed best-of-five-set singles matches that reached a fifth set.
- finals_win_pct: Singles titles divided by singles finals reached.
- first_serve_pct: Percentage of service points where the first serve landed in.
- first_serve_points_won_pct: Percentage of points won after making a first serve.
- five_set_win_pct: Win percentage in completed best-of-five-set singles matches.
- grand_slam_champions_by_year: Year-by-year singles champions at the Australian Open, Roland Garros, Wimbledon, and US Open.
- grand_slam_finals_win_pct: Grand Slam singles titles divided by Grand Slam singles finals reached.
- grand_slam_titles: Singles titles won at the Australian Open, Roland Garros, Wimbledon, and US Open.
- grand_slam_win_pct: Win percentage in completed Grand Slam singles matches.
- grand_slam_win_streak: Longest consecutive winning streak in completed Grand Slam singles matches, excluding walkovers.
- grand_slam_wins: Completed singles match wins at Grand Slam tournaments.
- grass_win_pct: Win percentage in completed main-draw singles matches on grass courts.
- grass_win_streak: Longest consecutive winning streak in completed singles matches on grass courts, excluding walkovers.
- grass_wins: Completed main-draw singles match wins on grass courts.
- hard_win_pct: Win percentage in completed main-draw singles matches on hard courts.
- hard_win_streak: Longest consecutive winning streak in completed singles matches on hard courts, excluding walkovers.
- hard_wins: Completed main-draw singles match wins on hard courts.
- leader_active_view: Uses the same career measure but includes only players TennisDB currently classifies as active.
- leader_career_view: Ranks career totals or career rates across the chosen era.
- leader_current_rank_view: Lists currently ranked players in official ranking order and shows their full-history career statistic.
- leader_single_season_view: Ranks the best individual player-seasons for the selected statistic across the chosen era.
- leader_year_by_year_view: Shows the leading player or player-season separately for each season.
- losing_streak: Longest consecutive losing streak in completed singles matches.
- losses: Completed main-draw singles matches lost in TennisDB's match data.
- masters_1000_champions_by_year: Year-by-year singles champions at tournaments currently categorized by TennisDB as Masters 1000 or WTA 1000.
- masters_finals_win_pct: Masters 1000 or WTA 1000 singles titles divided by finals reached at that level.
- masters_titles: Singles titles won at Masters 1000 or WTA 1000 events.
- masters_win_pct: Win percentage in completed Masters 1000 or WTA 1000 singles matches.
- masters_win_streak: Longest consecutive winning streak in completed Masters 1000 or WTA 1000 singles matches, excluding walkovers.
- masters_wins: Completed singles match wins at Masters 1000 or WTA 1000 events.
- matches: Completed main-draw singles matches in TennisDB's match data.
- oldest_gs_title_winner: Oldest age when winning a Grand Slam singles title.
- oldest_title_winner: Oldest age when winning a singles title.
- peak_elo: The highest Elo rating a player has reached in TennisDB's ratings.
- points_change_60d: Ranking-points change over the last 60 days.
- prize_money: Career prize money when available from source data.
- rank_change_60d: Ranking change over the last 60 days.
- rank_movement_weekly: Ranking change since the previous ranking snapshot.
- ranking_delta: Ranking change since the start of the season.
- ranking_points: Official ranking points from the selected ranking snapshot.
- recent_w_l: Win-loss record over the last 20 matches.
- return_points_won_pct: Percentage of all points won while returning.
- return_rating: Composite returning rating derived from available return stats.
- sample: Matches with the required stat data available.
- season_elo: For the current season, this is the latest TennisDB Elo rating. For past seasons, this is year-end Elo.
- season_rank: For the current season, this is the latest ranking. For past seasons, this is the year-end ranking.
- season_vs_expected: Wins above or below Elo prediction over the player's last 20 matches. Positive means outperforming expectations.
- second_serve_points_won_pct: Percentage of points won after missing the first serve and making a second serve.
- serve_rating: Composite serving rating derived from available serve stats.
- service_points_won_pct: Percentage of all points won while serving.
- set_margin: Average per-set game margin from the player's perspective. Positive values mean winning sets by more games on average.
- set_win_pct: Sets won divided by total completed sets in eligible scored matches.
- sos_percentile: Strength of Schedule percentile based on opponent quality. Higher means the player faced tougher opponents.
- third_set_win_pct: Win percentage in completed best-of-three-set singles matches that reached a third set.
- three_set_win_pct: Win percentage in completed best-of-three-set singles matches.
- tiebreak_win_pct: Tiebreaks won divided by total tiebreaks played.
- tiebreaks_lost: Tiebreaks lost.
- tiebreaks_won: Tiebreaks won.
- titles: Singles tournament titles in TennisDB's title data.
- top_100_win_pct: Win percentage against opponents ranked in the Top 100 at the time of the match.
- top_100_wins: Wins against opponents ranked in the Top 100 at the time of the match.
- top_10_win_pct: Win percentage against opponents ranked in the Top 10 at the time of the match.
- top_10_wins: Wins against opponents ranked in the Top 10 at the time of the match.
- top_20_win_pct: Win percentage against opponents ranked in the Top 20 at the time of the match.
- top_20_wins: Wins against opponents ranked in the Top 20 at the time of the match.
- top_50_win_pct: Win percentage against opponents ranked in the Top 50 at the time of the match.
- top_50_wins: Wins against opponents ranked in the Top 50 at the time of the match.
- total_points_won_pct: Percentage of all completed points won.
- vs_expected: Wins above or below Elo prediction over the last 20 matches. Positive means outperforming expectations.
- w_l: Wins and losses in completed main-draw singles matches.
- weeks_at_no1: Weeks spent at No. 1 in the official rankings.
- win_pct: Wins divided by total completed main-draw matches.
- win_streak: Longest consecutive winning streak in completed singles matches, excluding walkovers.
- wins: Completed main-draw singles matches won in TennisDB's match data.
- youngest_gs_title_winner: Youngest age when winning a Grand Slam singles title.
- youngest_title_winner: Youngest age when winning a singles title.
- Season age: A player's age on July 1 of the calendar season. TennisDB uses this fixed midseason date when labeling and comparing age-based seasons; it differs from exact age on a match or ranking date.

## Tournament categories
- Grand Slam: Australian Open, Roland Garros, Wimbledon, and US Open.
- WTA 1000: top-tier non-Slam events in TennisDB category normalization.
- WTA 500 and 250: main-tour event categories below the 1000 level.
- WTA Finals: season-ending championship event.

## Round labels
- F: Final.
- SF: Semifinal.
- QF: Quarterfinal.
- R16/R32/R64/R128: main-draw rounds by remaining draw size.
- Q1/Q2/Q3/Q4: qualifying rounds.
