Thiago Tirante beat Flavio Cobolli 6-3, 6-4 in Rome to end the Italian's run at the ATP Masters 1000 event. Cobolli was the No. 10 seed, and Tirante was ranked world No. 69. The win came in the last match of the third-round programme on Campo Centrale. Tirante had already knocked out the No. 17 seed earlier in the tournament.
