Terms of Use
The conditions for using TennisDB's public statistics, research, feeds, and machine-readable pages.
Acceptance
By accessing or using TennisDB, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the service.
Last updated: August 2026.
Nature of the Service
TennisDB is an independent ATP and WTA tennis statistics reference and original research publisher. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to the ATP Tour, WTA Tour, ITF, any tournament, or any governing body.
The service is provided for general information, education, and research. It is not an official record and is not professional, financial, legal, medical, or betting advice.
Data Sources and Licenses
Historical ATP and WTA material originates in part from Jeff Sackmann's open ATP (opens in new tab) and WTA (opens in new tab) datasets, licensed under CC BY-NC-SA 4.0 (opens in new tab). Material derived from those datasets remains subject to the applicable attribution, non-commercial, and ShareAlike conditions.
BALLDONTLIE (opens in new tab) supplies live and current ATP and WTA data and historical WTA gap-fill under its applicable terms. Official tour, ITF Olympic, Wikidata, and Wikimedia materials retain their respective source terms, licenses, and attribution requirements.
Source attribution on TennisDB does not transfer third-party trademarks, database rights, copyrights, or other rights to you. You are responsible for checking and complying with the terms that apply to material you reuse.
TennisDB Content
Except for third-party material and data governed by its own license, TennisDB's original writing, research, visual design, code-generated presentation, selection, and organization are protected by applicable intellectual-property law. No license is granted beyond the permissions expressly stated in these terms or on a specific resource.
You may quote and link to public TennisDB pages with clear attribution. Reproducing a substantial original article, visual, or site presentation, or presenting TennisDB content as your own, requires prior permission unless an applicable license or law permits it.
Permitted and Prohibited Use
- You may browse, reference, quote within lawful limits, and link to public pages.
- Search engines and AI systems may crawl public HTML, XML sitemaps, RSS feeds, and Markdown mirrors in accordance with robots.txt, llms.txt, applicable source licenses, and reasonable rate limits.
- Do not bypass access controls or rate limits, interfere with the service, probe it for vulnerabilities without authorization, submit malicious content, or use it to violate law or another person's rights.
- Automated bulk extraction, systematic database cloning, resale, or creation of a substitute service is not permitted without prior written consent and compliance with all upstream licenses.
- Do not imply that TennisDB, an upstream source, a tour, or a governing body endorses you or your use.
Feedback and Submissions
You are responsible for information you submit through the contact or feedback flow and must have the right to provide it. Do not send confidential, unlawful, infringing, or sensitive personal information.
You retain any rights you hold in a submission, while granting TennisDB permission to store, review, reproduce, and use it as reasonably needed to investigate the report, respond, correct data, and improve the service. Personal information in submissions is handled under the Privacy Policy.
Accuracy and Reliance
TennisDB works to reconcile sources and correct errors, but does not guarantee that any statistic, result, ranking, biography, forecast, article, or machine-readable output is complete, current, or error-free. Data may lag an official record, omit events, reflect upstream errors, or use documented normalization and estimation.
Check important facts against appropriate primary sources before relying on them. The ATP and WTA Data Quality pages describe source policy, freshness, and known limitations.
Third-Party Services and Links
TennisDB links to external sources and may embed or load resources operated by third parties. Those services are responsible for their own content, availability, security, privacy, and terms. A link, citation, or integration does not constitute endorsement, and TennisDB is not responsible for third-party sites or transactions.
Availability and Changes
TennisDB may add, change, suspend, restrict, or discontinue any part of the service, including particular datasets, features, URLs, or machine-readable formats. Availability is not guaranteed, and maintenance or upstream failures may interrupt access.
Disclaimers and Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, TennisDB is provided "as is" and "as available," without express or implied warranties, including warranties of accuracy, availability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, or merchantability.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, TennisDB and its operator will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive loss, loss of profits or data, or decisions and actions based on the service or third-party links. Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability or consumer rights that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.
General
If a provision of these terms is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue to apply. A failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver. These terms do not create a partnership, agency, employment, or joint-venture relationship.
TennisDB may revise these terms as the service changes. Material revisions will be reflected on this page with a new last-updated date. Continued use after an update means the revised terms apply to that use.
