Medvedev, a rare fan of the long Masters 1000, has an idea to fix the calendar


Daniil Medvedev wants the ATP calendar to give the long Masters 1000 events even more weight. He made the argument after reaching the Wimbledon third round, saying the crowded points chase around those tournaments wears players down. The practical effect of his proposal would be less calendar strain and a schedule that rewards the biggest events more heavily.
