Sinner highlights building blocks behind record M1000 streak: ‘I like the journey’

Jannik Sinner beat Alexander Zverev to win the Mutua Madrid Open and extend his record ATP Masters 1000 streak. The title made him the first player to win five consecutive Masters 1000 events, a run that now stands ahead of the marks set by Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal and Novak Djokovic. It was Sinner's first Madrid title and came after a straight-sets final in Manolo Santana Stadium. His run included an early scare against Benjamin Bonzi before he surged through the event.
