Casper Ruud beat Karen Khachanov in a rain-interrupted three-set match to reach the Rome semifinals. The Internazionali BNL d'Italia run is Ruud's fourth semifinal in Rome and his 10th ATP Masters 1000 semifinal, with eight of those on clay. The result also moves the clay-court Norwegian back into the top 20 and gives him a confidence boost before Roland Garros. Ruud reached his 43rd tour-level semifinal overall.
