Raducanu withdraws from Madrid Open as illness absence nears two months

Emma Raducanu has withdrawn from the Madrid Open, extending her absence from the WTA Tour to two months because of a viral illness. She has not played since a second-round loss to Amanda Anisimova at Indian Wells on 8 March. The withdrawal means she will miss another clay-court event as she continues to recover. She briefly trained on site at the Miami Open after Indian Wells.
