Cameron Norrie beat Tomas Machac in three sets to move into the third round of the Madrid Open. Katie Boulter was also in action but lost to fifth seed Jessica Pegula. Norrie's result kept British interest alive in the men's draw. Pegula's win advanced her as the higher seed in the women's event.
